Step 2: Define the categories that matter

Just like a financial budget, the next step is to define the categories that are meaningful to you. I think of mine across both my personal life and work life ー but customize this to work for you! Try to have more than 5 categories so you can see meaningful trends, but no more than 15 so that categorization becomes taxing.
Pro tip: While I don't do it, some like to to help associate these categories to what they see in Google Calendar.
